We are one of the two a cappella groups at Kent State University (main campus). Since the group formed in 2015, we have continued to grow, diversify our sound and most of all - have a great time making music.

We make arrange, rehearse and perform music of all styles. We perform for various occasions, including our annual fall and winter concert, festivals and special events.

All of the arrangements that we sing are written by Vocal Intensity members.

Vocal Intensity was brought up as a way for those who have a passion for singing to make music again. As the group withholds those of various majors and backgrounds that aren't related to music, we are an incredibly inclusive group aiming to foster unification and new friendships.

Auditions occur at the beginning of each semester. Our auditions consist of having those interested prepare a verse and a chorus of two songs that accurately reflect their vocal ability. This is followed by a range test, pitch matching and harmonization. The audition process is followed by callbacks.
